Is the Wild Fern Farm Vegetable CSA a good fit for us?
Is your household able and willing to try new vegetables?
The Wild Fern Farm CSA is a pre selected assortment of vegetables. Meaning that you might find yourself getting a vegetable that is not in your usual cooking repertoire. We really strive to pack the shares with mostly just the most common produce that you would find at the grocery store. But maybe you never buy beets, a pretty common vegetable and one that will definitely show up in the CSA a few times during the season.
Are you excited about the opportunity to learn and try new ways to cook a new-to-you vegetable? We include quick and easy cooking ideas and recipe ideas in the weekly CSA email which customers find very helpful. Does reading about how to cook a vegetable sound exciting?

Or do you think you would often not feel like you have the bandwidth/time to figure out how to cook a new vegetable?
Is taste and quality in the vegetables you buy important to you?
Small, local farms (like Wild Fern Farm) can not compete with the huge farms that sell to the grocery store on price. What we can compete with is produce quality and flavor. We knock it out of the park on freshness and flavor because our produce is picked 24 hours or less before it is packed for CSA and we work hard on soil health and on crop health. Healthy soil = healthy crops= tasty produce
But, how much does flavor and freshness of vegetables mean to you? If not much, then the extra work and cost of having a CSA might not be worth it to you.
Below is the list of the crops that we plan to have available during the season. Wild Fern Farm is a small farm and we do not grow and offer every crop. Will this offering work for your household?
