Italian flat leaf parsley may look unassuming but add it to soups and stews, stocks and salads, and you add a fresh flavor and color that makes the dish. 
And don’t discard the stems, which have a stronger flavor than the leaves and can be used in a bouquet garni and added to homemade stock or a pot of beans.
